Bangkok Rivers and Waterways
Bangkok was founded on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River, with many of its attactions, like the Grand Palace and the Temple Dawn, best seen by boat.
The 'King of Rivers' is still an integral part of the local way of life, with commuters, monks and schools children on river taxis a common sight.
For visitors, Bangkok rivers and waterways are a great way to sightsee and explore the 'old and new' of Bangkok city, with its old warehouses and historical temples standing side by side modern hotels.
Visitors can choose to explore the rivers by river cruises, public river taxis or the more luxurious dinner cruises.
