Chatuchak Weekend Market
Chatuchak Weekend Market is a must-go in Bangkok, with 15,000 stalls spread across 35 acres, selling anything from local handicrafts like bamboo mats, to art, antiques, household items and even exotic pets. This weekend-only market recently added an air-condtioned section, giving tired shoppers a brief respite from the heat. Most of the market is still open air, so go early in the morning to avoid the heat. Free maps are available near the parking lot. Prices at ‘JJ’, as the locals call it, generally lower than in other Bangkok markets.
