This shopping street is a fantastic way to shop away from the usual touristy areas.  Bobae Market is just 15 minutes drive east of Khaosan Road, and is near to Hua Lamphong Train Station.

 

As it’s not a touristy spot, Bobae Market offers you a peek into the authentic Thai life, and glimpses into old Bangkok. Usually, Thai merchants come here early in the morning to sell their goods in bulk. Clothes and other necessities are sold wholesale.

 

Unlike the other shopping streets, Bobae Market is great for picking up no-frills clothes and fabric in bulk.

 

Part of the market is located inside a high-rised air conditioned building.  Good if you’ve been in the sun for too long.

 

Shops here open early and close only late at night. But the fruit and vegetable sellers start really early in the morning and close for the day in the afternoon.
